The Trade Business Development Associate assumes a primary role in the development of PSI market share and volume within their assigned territory of retail businesses. Your role is to effectively act as a business advisor and provide best in class services to our strategic partners. Using superior leadership and interpersonal skills, you will need to develop collaborative relationships with our retailers to customize product offerings, execute trade marketing initiatives and meet business objectives.
  • Prospecting and diligently pursuing new business.
  • Manage your channel of business in terms of performance by maintaining effective relationships across a diverse base of retailers for Pacific Smoke International.
  • Initialize trade programs, optimizing product mix and ensuring optimal product distribution, inventory levels and space allocation for your portfolio of business.
  • Increase sales by staying current with new products and trends as well as developing an awareness of customer requirements/preferences and changes in the local market, competitors and industry.
  • Contribute to the team by participating in sales team calls/meetings, sharing best practices and success stories, collaborating on proposal development.
  • Add value to the customer experience by developing a thorough understanding of their business, project and/or operational requirements. Advise the customer on the best product(s) to accomplish objectives and recommend discounts, and/or custom solutions. Provide creative solutions to exceed customer expectations.
  • Other work assigned by manager.
  • Post-Secondary education in Marketing or Business Management (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a sales capacity function.
  • Candidates should have exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to listen and understand a prospect’s business challenges in a professional manner.
  • Possess a strong business acumen and be energetic, resourceful, results driven with the ability to maintain good business rapport with all PSI customers.
  • Proven track record of expanding revenues through establishing new accounts to achieve sales targets.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Bilingualism would be an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Possess the legal right to work in Canada.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment with many competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments, but with the aptitude to maintain a big picture perspective.
