We have achieved tremendous growth over the last four years and we are seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our Regulatory & Compliance team.
The purpose of the compliance specialist is to perform assigned tasks and operations relating to consumer packaging and labelling requirements set out in Tobacco Vaping Products Act (TVPA). The Compliance specialist responsibilities are to ensure Pacific Smoke International products are compliant to the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act and with the Tobacco Vaping Products Act (TVPA) and its regulations.
  • Liaison and work with manufacturers from around the world on the creation of compliant labels that meets Canadian regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve labels and packaging in accordance to the Regulatory compliance set out in the TVPA and CPLA.
  • Organize, manage and maintain quality systems related to SOP management, record management or other systems as required.
  • Source, manage and maintain (using available systems) all required master documentation for all labelling and packaging, a requirement for the release of products to the market.
  • Maintain accurate and easily retrievable electronic and paper files for QM documentation as required for compliance with Canadian Regulations (TVPA and Health Canada Audits).
  • Attend Product Compliance meetings as required
  • Prepare monthly label consumption report for the Director of Regulatory Affairs
  • Prepare monthly label disposal report for the Director of Regulatory Affairs
  • Compare and assesses label inventory to min/max quantities
  • Track label version changes and reports to the Director Regulatory Affairs.
  • Act as a liaison between the Warehouse, purchasing department and Product Development team to ensure alliance of efforts in regards to the above duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure company’s products are compliant to vaping regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • May require to travel outside of Canada to work with suppliers on packaging and labelling compliance
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience related to QC/QA/ in consumer packaging and labelling of consumer products
  • A proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of Health Canada regulations, Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act guidelines
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
  • This position is not eligible for relocation support
